The world's highest city resides at a dizzying 4060 meters (over 13.000 ft.), set against the colorful Cerro Rico (Rich Mountain). Founded in 1546 as a mining town, Potosi soon became the largest and wealthiest city in Latin America and financed the Spanish economy for over two centuries. Once paved with silver, streets of today's Potosi reflect Bolivia's poverty and pride. This is a curiously magnetic place full of life, reality, and imagery.
