Puerto Natales
Punta Arenas - Puerto Natales: 150 miles
The day out of Punta Arenas started with a fill up (of gas AND lubricant of course). Cecilia was patiently waiting on her bike while I was putting on layers and layers of clothing, when, THUNK!.. She'd suddenly found herself on the ground!
It's nothing unheard of really. It was like that time when Anibal had stopped and parked the shiny F800 on Ruta 40 to help his ride mate who'd just been flown off the road by a gust. He said he next saw his fully loaded bike flip OVER the side stand!
Around here, patience is a requirement. Riding off to Puerto Natales on that day was madness; arriving there, just luck or nature's grace.
We spent a day on an expensive boat trip to visit the Serrano Glacier, but the weather didn't permit enjoying any views along the way. Nonetheless, that was the first time I saw a glacier. There, I even have a picture with it! (Now can we please go somewhere warm?)
